A Massachusetts boy celebrated his final cancer treatment by going to see his favorite hockey team. Quinn Waters, a 5-year-old from Weymouth known as "The Mighty Quinn," recently completed his 30th round of radiation after being diagnosed with brain cancer for the second time in his young life. On Tuesday, Quinn and his family went to TD Garden to watch the Boston Bruins play the Buffalo Sabres.
The Islanders also ventured past regulation intheir last game with a 3-2 overtime win against the New York Rangers on Sunday. That victory concluded a dominant six-game homestand (5-1-0) for the Islanders. The final whistle didn't just end the game, however, it also started a well-deserved break from their congested schedule.
The Boston Bruins added three players to the mix before Monday’s NHL trade deadline, but for Jake DeBrusk, one of them was more than just a new teammate. The Edmonton native was just 14 years old when his hometown Oilers drafted Taylor Hall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft with the first overall pick. Now 11 years later, DeBrusk is getting to play with one of his favorite players.
