The NHL did not specify which team prompted the postponement, though four Carolina players were added to the COVID-19 list Tuesday. The NHL already postponed the start of the Dallas Stars’ season after six players and two staff members tested positive for the virus. Carolina players Warren Foegele, Jordan Martinook, Jaccob Slavin and Teuvo Teravainen joined captain Jordan Staal on the unavailable list because of COVID-19 protocols.
Article content Tuesday night’s game between the Carolina Hurricanes and host Nashville Predators will be postponed due to COVID-19 concerns with the Hurricanes, TSN reported. Carolina posted a 4-2 win at Nashville on Monday night. Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal was placed on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list on Friday and has not played since a season-opening 3-0 win at Detroit last Thursday.
Reimer couldn’t be faulted on either Predators goal, and he more than earned his first win of the year. For Reimer, seeing so much action early helped him settle in after such a long layoff. For the Canes, his ability to settle in so quickly was the difference between victory and defeat.
