The Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars face off tonight in one of the games rescheduled due to the winter storms and power grid failure in Texas. The Predators have not won a game against a good team in over a month (their 6-5 OT victory over the Florida Panthers was on February 4). The Stars beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-0 last night, but their season has been mostly losses—after a red-hot 4-0 start to the season, they’ve gone 3-8-4.
Noel Acciari scored his first three goals of the season to power the Florida Panthers to a 6-2 win over the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Acciari came into the game with nary a point in his first 14 appearances of the season. After spotting Nashville an early lead on Eeli Tolvanen’s power-play goal at 6:46, Aaron Ekblad scored his third goal in the last two games on a nice individual effort to tie the score with 13 seconds left in the opening period.
Roman Josi stopped himself mid-four-letter word. The Nashville Predators captain, normally collected, was describing his role in his team's struggles after another loss Saturday, this time the KO came by the count of 6-2 against the Florida Panthers. "We need to figure it out quick," he said after the Predators' third consecutive defeat.
