Goaltender Ryan Fanti 'in a groove' with Komets, as he tries to work his way up Edmonton Oilers' depth chart

Ryan Fanti's stated purpose is simple: Become a solid, consistent professional goaltender. Right now, that means taking advantage of the opportunities he's given by the Komets. “With whatever I'm given moving forward, whether it's just practice or games, when I'm in the net I'm just trying to be a pro and be the best player and teammate I can be,” Fanti said Thursday. Fanti has been outstanding lately – since rejoining the Komets on Jan. 18, he's gone 2-2-0 and stopped 140 of the 148 shots (94.6%) he's faced – and showed the potential the NHL's Edmonton Oilers saw when they signed him out of the University of Minnesota-Duluth last year.

Connor McDavid continues to win with CCM Hockey

CCM Hockey, a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of hockey equipment, is excited to announce a contract extension with Connor McDavid, starting with the 2022-2023 season. McDavid has been a CCM brand ambassador since 2012, even before his NHL debut in 2015, and CCM is thrilled to continue its partnership with one of the game's most talented players. Under the terms of the new partnership, the Edmonton Oilers' centreman will continue to wear CCM equipment, while also promoting CCM's new base layer line.

Salary Crunch Time For Oilers: Tough and Trending Trade Fixes

The All-Star Break is meant to promote the best of the best in the NHL (that fact is debatable) but it also gives teams a bit of a breather before the stress and chaos of the trade deadline begins and the final pushes toward the playoffs commence. For the Edmonton Oilers, weighing on their mind must be the urgency that is moving money to become salary cap compliant before Kailer Yamamoto is ready to return to the lineup. GM Ken Holland has options, but the ones that are trending fans won't love. The fact that Jesse Puljujarvi is the most likely trade candidate is not news to Oilers fans by now.
