2017 NHL Expansion Draft: Bribing Vegas Will Not Be Easy

This is expected to be a summer full of change for the New York Rangers, but before any of that can happen, the team needs to go through the expansion draft -- where Las Vegas will be able to take an unprotected player from the Rangers with nothing being exchanged back to Broadway. Every NHL team will lose a single player, and every team has their own list they’re wrestling with to try and soften the blow as much as possible. Protected Lists * Clubs will have two options for players they wish to protect in the Expansion Draft: a) Seven forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender b) Eight skaters (forwards/defensemen) and one goaltender * All players who have currently effective and continuing

Why I'm A Fan of Notre Dame Football

I don't exactly know why I'm a fan of Notre Dame football, but I've got a couple of good theories. First and foremost, I was a bandwagon fan in all sports. I lived in New Jersey growing up. I started watching baseball and football in 1986. The New York Mets won the World Series and the New York Giants won the Super Bowl. Those were my teams. Why would

Why I'm a fan of the New York Knicks

My first sports love was the New York Rangers, because language is my first love, and so a sport that had names like Kelly Kisio and Mikko Makela and Ulf Samuelsson was impossible to ignore. My first intense sports love was the New York Mets, because baseball was the first game I was serious about playing, and I started paying attention to the Mets during the 1986 regular season, and so I am the rare breed of Met fans who are inherently optimistic, because I was raised on a team that made miracles seem inevitable. During those years the Knicks were a team I followed in the newspaper box scores and standings. My first favorite Knick (briefly) was Johnny Newman, who set a Knick record with 19 consecutive field goals made (I got off the Johnny train long before his arrest for assaulting his wife, the girl from A Different World and Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper).
