Several Sharks done for season, likely ending time in San Jose for some

A plethora of San Jose Sharks players did not join the team for their final road trip of the year, ending their respective seasons and for a few of them, likely their tenures with the organization. Forwards Kevin Labanc, Mike Hoffman, Filip Zadina, and Alexander Barabanov, forward/defenseman Jacob MacDonald, defenseman Jan Rutta, and goalie Mackenzie Blackwood all did not travel with the Sharks, who face the Edmonton Oilers tonight and the Calgary Flames on Thursday to close the regular season.

Canadiens Continue to Struggle on Power Play to End 2023-24

Earlier in 2023-24, one prevailing narrative had been that the Montreal Canadiens had turned a corner on the power play. To be fair, the Canadiens' power play is clicking at 17.6% overall. For some context, the Philadelphia Flyers have the lowest success rate in the league at 13.0%. Taking their goal differentials on the power play into account, the Habs are only two better off at being bad… and the Habs were back at it against the Carolina Hurricanes on March 30.

San Jose Sharks winger said he suffered concussion from Tkachuk hit

Forward Mike Hoffman said Saturday that he's been dealing with a concussion, providing some clarity as why he's been out of the San Jose Sharks lineup for the last two weeks. “So just going through all the protocols to get back and try and have all the symptoms go away and go from there,” Hoffman said. Hoffman said the concussion came from the hit he took from Ottawa captain Brady Tkachuk in the Sharks' March 9 game against the Senators at SAP Center. Hoffman had to be helped off the ice after the hit.
