The Boston Bruins (3-1-1) play their first game of two in three days against the Pittsburgh Penguins (4-2-0) at TD Garden Tuesday. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET.
That top trio is considered one of the best lines in the NHL and Pastrnak’s return will also help balance out the Bruins lineup. A season ago, Pastrnak was on pace to reach 50 goals for the first time in his career. At the time of the league’s pause due to COVID-19 on March 12, he had 48 goals in 70 games and finished in a tie for the scoring race with the Capitals’ Alex Ovechkin.
Matt Grzelcyk’s stay on the sidelines might be short-lived. The Boston Bruins defenseman could be in the lineup Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, head coach Bruce Cassidy indicated after morning skate. Grzelcyk will be a true game-time decision, as he’ll take part in warmup before the game to determine if he’s good to go.
