    Veteran center Matt Cullen has decided to sign with the Minnesota Wild, his hometown team.  Cullen signed a one-year deal worth $1 million.  The 40-year-old will most likely be playing his last season in the 2017-2018 campaign, capping off an exceptional career. For the Pittsburgh Penguins, replacing Cullen will be a tough task.  Although he was only a fourth liner, Cullen was a top penalty killer and a leader in the locker room.  With Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Nick Bonino, and Cullen down the middle, the Penguins had the strongest center core over the past two seasons.     Detroit Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg unlikely to play out contract

    The Detroit Red Wings may only get a year or two more from captain Henrik Zetterberg.  In an interview with Sweden’s Radiosportens, Zetterberg said he “will probably not play” through the end of his contract, which runs until 20-21. “I may have two years left, but I have also learned to take it year by year,” Zetterberg said. Zetterberg, 36, cited a longing for his native Sweden as part of his reasoning.
