The Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks have not been able to maintain momentum so far this season. Both teams bring 3-3-0 records into Tuesday night's opener of a two-game set in Denver. Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar says the success will come.
Hampus Lindholm was only 20 at the time of the collision, a man-child who had stepped into a key role in the Ducks’ defense corps in 2013-14. Jeff Carter of the Kings was fully grown when he muscled past Lindholm and scored a breakaway goal in Game 7 of their second-round series. Nearly seven years have passed and it’s difficult to imagine a repeat of that play happening now.
Goals have been hard to come by for the Anaheim Ducks. Jakob Silfverberg and Rickard Rakell each scored his first goal of the season and the Ducks held on for a 3-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Hampus Lindholm added an empty-net goal for the Ducks, who had not scored more than two goals in their first five games.
