Ducks’ Cogliano just doesn’t think Predators were the better team

The Anaheim Ducks battled their way to Game 6 of the Western Conference Final, but Colton Sissons and the Nashville Predators ended their season on Monday. The Ducks are processing that disappointment – being just two wins away from a trip to the championship round – and some of their reactions might spark a little controversy. Report: ‘Hawks could add Ulf Samuelsson to coaching staff

The Chicago Blackhawks are searching for an assistant coach, and Ulf Samuelsson might just be their guy. According to the Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune, Samuelsson is the “top candidate” to replace Mike Kitchen, who was fired after the ‘Hawks were swept by the Nashville Predators in the opening round the playoffs. The obvious connection here, is that Samuelsson and head coach Joel Quenneville were teammates with the Hartford Whalers back in the 1980s.

Coyotes’ Dylan Strome breaks Memorial Cup record with 7 points in game

Dylan Strome’s journey to becoming a full-timer at the NHL level might be a little bumpy, but he continues to distinguish himself at other levels. In the case of Monday, it was setting a new Memorial Cup record. With four goals and three assists, Strome’s seven-point game set a new record as he helped the Eerie Otters pummel the Saint John Sea Dogs 12-5. They’ll face the Windsor Spitfires on Wednesday to determine which team goes to the tournament’s final round. The performance wasn’t lost on his brother Ryan Strome.
