KANE Patrick Kane is set to become the youngest player in franchise history (32 years, 110 days) to play in their 1000th game, all with the Blackhawks when he suits up this evening. Brent Seabrook is currently the youngest in club history (32 years, 343 days) to achieve the milestone. Kane would become the 350th player in NHL history to play in their 1000th game and would also become the youngest U.S.-born player to score 400 goals and play in their 1000th career game.
Kirby Dach joined the Chicago Blackhawks for an optional practice on Monday, taking a big step in his comeback from wrist surgery. Coach Jeremy Colliton said the 20-year-old forward will accompany the team on its six-game road trip. “Whenever we can we'll get him with the group, whether that's the taxi squad or the full group,” Colliton said.
Leading the Hawks into playoff contention with 11 goals and 27 assists in 26 games, Kane is at the top of the MVP conversation and might be having the best season of his career. Rather than focus on any of those amazing feats, I thought we'd examine an under-the-radar topic that doesn't get nearly enough attention: The fact that Kane should be considered the media's MVP during most seasons. It's not just that he's generous with his time, especially on game days.
