NHL Trade Deadline: 3 Left-Field Fits for Patrick Kane

As trade talk heats up for Patrick Kane, the typical team names get tossed out there when it comes to franchises that would benefit from adding the winger to their roster. The New York Rangers, Vegas Golden Knights, New Jersey Devils, Los Angeles Kings, and others have been mentioned here and by other insiders. Kane does, after all, have all of the leverage in any pending deal before the NHL Trade Deadline. If Patrick Kane is looking for a team that he believes might have a chance to win and is going all-in for this one particular season before players are jettisoned and go their separate ways, the Minnesota Wild might be an option.

Blackhawks prospect updates: Frank Nazar likely to return to Michigan next season

When the Blackhawks selected Frank Nazar 13th overall last summer, the most likely timeline was that Nazar would spend one year at the University of Michigan and then turn pro. Nazar finally resumed skating a few weeks ago, progressing to the next stage of his rehab, but he has yet to play a game this season. Michigan coach Brandon Naurato said Tuesday on a local radio show he's “optimistic” Nazar will debut before season's end, but that realistically might depend on how deep a postseason run the Wolverines make. From a Hawks perspective, however, Nazar's long-term health and stability is far more important than a few crammed-in games this spring.

Blackhawks AHL prospect update for 2/2: IceHogs slumping in '23

It's that time again when we check in on the Chicago Blackhawks prospects playing in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs. The IceHogs hit a rough patch lately, losing seven of nine and falling from second in the AHL's Central Division to fifth. Rockford did manage to win their last game 3-2 in overtime against the Manitoba Moose and ended a seven-game losing streak in the process, but they'll need to really regroup to get back into playoff position. One area to watch out for are the players who have returned from their NHL stints with the Blackhawks as they've had some struggles.
