Please recall back in June when the good folks at HockeyBarn.com bestowed upon this silly blog its New Media Hockey Writer of the Year Award. The grand prize included a chance to hang at the 2009 Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremonies as the personal guest of Glenn Anderson, the HOFer that starred for the Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers.
It was a humbling prize that we told the Barn was an honor to receive, but one we ultimately felt could do more than to just offer us an open bar and a brush with immortality. So we decided to put this amazing opportunity on the auction block for a great cause.
Glenn Anderson's Personal V.I.P. Guest Package, with auction proceeds benefitting the Alberta Cancer Foundation, includes:
Attending the Nov. 9 Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Toronto as Glenn's V.I.P. guest. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness Brett Hull, Steve Yzerman, Luc Robitaille, Brian Leetch and Lou Lamoriello join Anderson as members of the Hockey Hall of Fame. (Having been to inductions before, it's an incomparable party and stargazing experience.)
A V.I.P. ticket for the taping of the final round of CBC's hockey player/figure skating series "Battle of the Blades" at Maple Leaf Gardens.
The reserve price for this package is $2,500, and auction runs until 9 p.m. on Oct. 15. Visit ClassicAuctions.net to bid on this amazing package, and for full rules and requirements for the prize. We're honored to work with Hockey Barn on this incredible chance to raise some dough for the Alberta Cancer Foundation (Glenn's charity of choice) and to give some lucky puckhead an unparalleled hockey memory.
Good luck, and happy bidding ...
