• Via this NHL.com video, we get a glimpse of one of the more controversial aspects of the new Reebok NHL All-Star Game sweaters: The placement of the numbers above the crest and below the neckline. Honestly, it takes some getting used to, but on an All-Star sweater it's OK ... just nothing we'd EVER want to see on an NHL jersey. [s/t Icethetics]

• We'll have more on this in a bit, but check out the Ron Wilson/600th win bounty story on Eat. Sleep. Leafs. [ESL]

• Gary Bettman on whether the league will ever consider the IIHF point system, three points for a win, two points for an overtime win, one point for a loss: "There hasn't been much push, because if you change the point system, you're going to change the dynamic at the end of the game. You will see if a team is up by one goal at the beginning of the third period a much more defensive-oriented game. We've tried to create the opportunity and incentives for a more wide-open game, more scoring chances, so it works well." [FanHouse]
