Of all the third jersey designs for the 2010-11 season, we've been a little obsessed with the one for the Anaheim Ducks.
There have been some fan art attempts this summer, but Chris from Icethetics recently spilled on what the alternate sweaters are going to look like this season:
The sweater is highlighted by the use of the standalone webbed "D" logo, which has been in use as an alternate mark for several years. However, this is the first time it will be placed on the front of a uniform.
In addition, the Ducks are adding a new logo (right), also by looking to their past.
The new mark will be worn as a shoulder patch on the alternate sweater and includes a recolored version of the original Mighty Ducks logo.
Is it OK to hate the "webbed 'D'" logo for the Ducks?
Ever since they introduced it four years ago, they've been trying to make it an iconic mark for the team. Maybe it's some kind of Mighty Ducks nostalgia that keeps us from being down with the 'D' ... but honestly, does it get any better than this?
We'll pass or fail this thing when it finally leaks (and if anyone at the Ducks or Reebok is on 'the email', our inbox is open at firstname.lastname@example.org). The bottom line is that Ducks fans sound pleased to see a new sweater, and the judging from their previous alternate sweaters the bar is set rather low. OK, really, really low.
