Honestly: Did you expect North Dakota freshman and Twitter preacher Rocco Grimaldi to celebrate his first NCAA goal with anything other than Tebowing?

Here’s Rocco Grimaldi Tebowing after 1st NCAA goal

It was an emotional moment for Grimaldi, a devout Christian who uses social media to preach what he believes. He scored his first career goal after missing six games this season with a lower-body injury, and on a nifty play: He "entered the zone one-on-two, zipped across the slot to cross-up the defenders, then ripped a snap shot high over" the goalie's glove, according to the Grand Forks Herald.

The Sioux lost to Minnesota, 3-2, to sweep their regular-season series for the first time since 1996.

Was this an intentional Tebowing or a religious player celebrating as religious players do? Well, consider that Tim Tebow, the Denver Broncos quarterback whose one-knee on-field prayer inspired this meme, is an idol for Grimaldi.

From the Sun Sentinel, on what Rocco admires about Tim:

"His faith, first and foremost. For me being a strong Christian, that's one of the big reasons: How he lets his faith out and he's not ashamed of it, that's an awesome thing to see. Being a football player is a lot different than hockey, but it's the same with the work ethic and how you approach the game. He's an animal with how he works out."

We've had our issues with some of Grimaldi's public professions of faith, but never with his faith. Celebrating his historic snipe with a bit of Tebowing is just about perfect; now, which NCAA foe will go all Stephen Tulloch in response?

Bless PD reader CJ Fogler for the image.
