NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are five games scheduled for Wednesday but do note that the Panthers-Hurricanes contest will start at 5:00pm ET, so many daily leagues won’t include that game.

Forwards:

Patrick Kane (Chicago) – W - $8,600 FanDuel, $8,400 DraftKings, $32 Yahoo

Kane is having a great season so far, but then, that’s par for the course for him. He has seven goals and 22 points in 17 games, which is amazing, but what’s even more amazing is that it’s roughly in line with his PPG over his previous two seasons. Lately he’s been particularly good with four goals and 15 points in nine games, but it’s far more often to find him doing well than poorly. He’s just a reliable option on almost any night.

Mark Scheifele (Winnipeg) – C - $7,500 FanDuel, $6,800 DraftKings, $27 Yahoo

Scheifele is heading into Wednesday’s contest on a seven-game point streak. Through 15 contests this season, he’s only been held off the scoresheet twice. That makes him one of the most consistent options in the league. He’s also one of the best forwards thus far with seven goals and 21 points in 15 contests.

Elias Pettersson (Vancouver) – C - $6,700 FanDuel, $6,700 DraftKings, $21 Yahoo

Pettersson has chipped in at least a point in six of his last seven games and nine of his last 11 contests. After getting off to a sluggish start this season, he’s scored four goals and 11 points over that 11-game span.

Bargain Bin: Elias Lindholm (CGY) - $6,300 FanDuel/$6,000 DraftKings/$21 Yahoo, Brady Tkachuk (OTT) - $5,600 FanDuel/$6,100 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Zach Hyman (TOR) - $5,100 FanDuel/$5,700 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo, Dominik Kubalik (CHI) - $4,900 FanDuel/$4,900 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Connor Brown (OTT) - $4,100 FanDuel/$3,400 DraftKings/$14 Yahoo.

Defensemen:

Tyson Barrie (Edmonton) - $5,700 FanDuel, $5,800 DraftKings, $21 Yahoo

Barrie has recorded at least a point in three straight games and in eight of his last nine contests. He’s having a strong season overall with three goals and 14 points in 17 games. In other words, he’s a really good offensive defenseman at a reasonable price.

Bargain Bin: Quinn Hughes (VAN) - $5,700 FanDuel/$5,300 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Neal Pionk (WPG) - $4,900 FanDuel/$4,600 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Rasmus Andersson (CGY) - $4,400 FanDuel/$4,700 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Josh Morrissey (WPG) - $4,100 FanDuel/$4,200 DraftKings/$16 Yahoo, Nicolas Beaudin (CHI) - $4,000 FanDuel/$3,400 DraftKings/$15 Yahoo.

Goalies:

Kevin Lankinen (Detroit) - $7,500 FanDuel, $7,900 DraftKings, $35 Yahoo

It’s still early, but Lankinen has quietly been making a strong case to take the Calder Trophy this season. He’s posted a 6-2-3 record, 2.49 GAA, and .925 save percentage in 11 starts, making him one of the big reasons Chicago has managed to stay competitive even without Jonathan Toews and Alex Nylander. Tonight he’ll be up against Detroit, which isn’t exactly the toughest of opponents.

Bargain Bin: Connor Hellebuyck (WPG) - $7,600 FanDuel/$7,600 DraftKings/$32 Yahoo
