NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
There is only one game scheduled for tonight, which brings a different format. On FanDuel, you’ll be picking a Captain, who will give you 1.5x points, and four utility players with a budget of $55,000. DraftKings will have you pick a Captain worth 1.5x points and five flex players with a budget of $50,000. For Yahoo, you’ll be picking a Superstar worth 1.5x points and four flex players with a budget of $130. In other words, the terminology and budget changes from site-to-site, but the basic idea is the same throughout. It should also be noted that DraftKings and Yahoo allow you use goaltenders.
Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay) - $14,500 (FanDuel)), $15,600 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
Kucherov didn’t appear to be hindered by a suspected rib injury in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final when he produced two goals and one assist in Tampa Bay’s 5-1 win over Montreal. He has amassed 30 points (seven goals, 23 assists) in 19 postseason games.

Brayden Point (Tampa Bay) - $15,500 (FanDuel)), $15,300 (DraftKings), $25 (Yahoo)
Point could also be used in the captain/superstar slot for Wednesday’s slate, but either way he is certainly worth stacking with Kucherov. He registered three assists and three shots in Monday’s win over the Canadiens in the series opener of the Stanley Cup Final. Point has racked up 14 goals and 23 points in 19 matches this postseason.
Ondrej Palat (Tampa Bay) - $9,500 (FanDuel)), $11,700 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)
Palat had one assist, three hits and two shots in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. He has chipped in two goals and five points in the past seven contests, while skating alongside Point and Kucherov. He could be a candidate to play on the top power-play unit if Alex Killorn is deemed to be unavailable, but even if Killorn is good to go there is plenty of justification to roster Palat.
Yanni Gourde (Tampa Bay) - $11,500 (FanDuel)), $10,500 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo)
Gourde has netted four goals in the past six games, including Monday’s 5-1 win over Montreal in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. He has found the back of the net in each of his last two outings, while adding eight shots on target, three hits and one block.
Alex Killorn (TB) - $9,000 (FanDuel)), $17 (Yahoo), Cole Caufield (MON) - $9,500 (FanDuel)), $16 (Yahoo), Shea Weber (MON) - $10,000 (FanDuel)), $18 (Yahoo), Blake Coleman (TB) - $8,500 (FanDuel)), $6,900 (DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo)
