NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

With there only being one game scheduled for tonight, the format is different. With FanDuel, you’ll be picking a Captain, who will give you 1.5x points, and four utility players with a budget of $55,000. DraftKings will have you pick a Captain worth 1.5x points and five flex players with a budget of $50,000. For Yahoo, you’ll be picking a Superstar worth 1.5x points and four flex players with a budget of $130. In other words, the terminology and budget changes from site-to-site, but the basic idea is the same throughout.

David Pastrnak (Boston) - $15,000 FanDuel, $15,900 DraftKings, $33 Yahoo

Pastrnak is a pretty much ideal fit for the captain/superstar role tonight. Through 10 playoff games he’s recorded at least a point in eight of those contests and he has multiple points in four of his last seven games. He’s up to seven goals and 14 points in 10 postseason games this year. With the Bruins’ season on the line, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him rise to the occasion.

Mathew Barzal (NY Islanders) - $13,000 FanDuel, $12,900 DraftKings, $19 Yahoo

Barzal is a good bet on all sites, but he’s particularly worthwhile on Yahoo where he’s fairly cheap relative to what he brings to the table. Barzal was quiet during the Islanders’ first round series against Pittsburgh, but he’s stepped up against Boston and is a big part of the reason the Islanders are now just one win away from the semifinals. He has three goals and six points over his last four contests.

Charlie McAvoy (Boston) - $11,500 FanDuel, $12,600 DraftKings, $19 Yahoo

Today’s format doesn’t require you to pick a defenseman, but McAvoy is still worth consideration. He has a goal and 11 points in 10 playoff games this year. He was particularly good on Monday, recording five shots and three assists.

Kyle Palmieri (NY Islanders) - $9,500 FanDuel, $8,700 DraftKings, $18 Yahoo

This series alone has justified the Islanders’ acquisition of Palmieri back in April. He’s going into Wednesday’s action on a four-game point streak with three goals and five points over that span. That makes him a particularly interesting pick given his price point.

Bargain Bin: Jean-Gabriel Pageau (NYI) - $9,000 FanDuel/$10,800 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Noah Dobson (NYI) - $7,000 FanDuel/$6,900 DraftKings/$13 Yahoo, Connor Clifton (BOS) - $6,000 FanDuel/$3,600 DraftKings/$10 Yahoo,
