NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are five games set for Tuesday, not including the postponed Islanders-Bruins game.

Mikko Rantanen (Colorado) – W - $8,400 FanDuel, $8,000 DraftKings, $33 Yahoo

Rantanen certainly isn’t cheap, but he’s on a six-game point streak and has recorded at least a point in eight of his last nine contests, so he’s about as hot as they come. He’s also having a great season in general with 18 goals and 36 points in 30 contests.

Aleksander Barkov (Florida) – W - $7,700 FanDuel, $8,300 DraftKings, $32 Yahoo

Barkov has only been held off the scoresheet twice in his last 13 games. He really hasn’t had a cold stretch so far in 2020-21 with the closest thus far being Feb. 7-9 when he was held pointless in back-to-back games, so he’s been a very safe bet overall. He’s up to 13 goals and 37 points in 31 contests this season.

Anthony Cirelli (Tampa Bay) – C - $5,500 FanDuel, $5,700 DraftKings, $19 Yahoo

Cirelli has nine goals and 20 points in 25 contests this season, which is pretty impressive given his reasonable price point. He’s gotten there by regularly chipping in. The last time he was held off the scoresheet in back-to-back games was back on Feb. 9-11.

Bargain Bin: Brandon Saad (COL) - $5,300 FanDuel/$4,400 DraftKings/$16 Yahoo, Carter Verhaeghe (FLA) - $5,200 FanDuel/$5,400 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Robby Fabbri (DET) - $5,200 FanDuel/$4,700 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Dominik Kubalik (CHI) - $5,100 FanDuel/$5,500 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Alex Killorn (TBL) - $4,900 FanDuel/$5,600 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo, Yanni Gourde (TBL) - $4,600 FanDuel/$4,900 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Jesper Bratt (NJD) - $4,500 FanDuel/$4,200 DraftKings/$16 Yahoo

Duncan Keith (CHI) - $4,700 FanDuel/$4,100 DraftKings/$16 Yahoo

He’s certainly not the offensive threat he once was, but he’s also not particularly expensive. Even still, I wouldn’t recommend him today if he hadn’t been hot lately. He’s scored a goal and four points in his last five games.

Bargain Bin: Mikhail Sergachev (TBL) - $4,500 FanDuel/$5,500 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Damon Severson (NJD) - $4,300 FanDuel/$3,600 DraftKings/$10 Yahoo, MacKenzie Weegar (FLA) - $4,100 FanDuel/$4,900 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo

Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay) - $8,700 FanDuel, $8,000 DraftKings, $40 Yahoo

What do you get when you put an elite goaltender on a team with a high-powered offense? A 13-game winning streak and a 20-3-1 record through 24 starts. There are no guarantees in pro sports, but Vasilevskiy is about as safe as they come. In addition to his impressive record, Vasilevskiy also has a 1.86 GAA and .933 save percentage this season.

Bargain Bin: Pekka Rinne (NAS) - $7,400 FanDuel/$8,100 DraftKings/$26 Yaho
