NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Thursday has two games on the schedule.

Forwards:

Sebastian Aho (Carolina) - C - $8,300 (FanDuel), $7,400 (DraftKings), $30 (Yahoo)

Aho has been a boom or bust option so far in the postseason. He has gone scoreless in three of five games versus Nashville, but he has also racked up three goals and two assists in the two matches when he managed to hit the scoresheet. Aho is still tied for the team lead in points, power-play points (2) and game-winning goals (1). He also ranks second on the Hurricanes with 26 shots on target.

William Nylander (Toronto) - W - $6,800 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)

Nylander has found the back of the net in four straight playoff games against Montreal, while adding one assist and 11 shots on goal during that span. He is tied for the team lead in points this postseason with Alexander Kerfoot, who has been filling in on Toronto’s second line.

Jordan Staal (Carolina) - C - $5,100 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)

Staal has four goals and one assist in five games this postseason. He scored the overtime winner in Game 5 to stretch his point streak to three games. Staal has also been credited with 12 shots on target and 11 hits during tat span.

Defensemen:

Ryan Ellis (Nashville) - $4,600 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)

Ellis offers plenty of bang for the buck upside and he has been very productive in the postseason. He has one goal and three helpers in five games in the first round against Carolina. Ellis has also provided 10 shots, five hits and 12 blocks.

Bargain Bin: Morgan Rielly (TOR) - $5,300 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Jeff Petry (MON) - $5,200 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo), Brett Pesce (CAR) - $4,200 (FanDuel), $4,400 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Jake Muzzin (TOR) - $4,000 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

Jack Campbell (Toronto) - $8,500 (FanDuel), $8,300 (DraftKings), $33 (Yahoo)

Campbell is coming off a 32-save shutout in Game 4 and he has stopped 110 of 114 shots in Toronto’s first round series versus Montreal. That gives him a 1.01 goals-against average and .965 save percentage going into Game 5 on Thursday night.
