NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

There is only one game scheduled for tonight, which means the format is different. With FanDuel, you’ll be picking a Captain, who will give you 1.5x points, and four utility players with a budget of $55,000. DraftKings will have you pick a Captain worth 1.5x points and five flex players with a budget of $50,000. For Yahoo, you’ll be picking a Superstar worth 1.5x points and four flex players with a budget of $130. In other words, the terminology and budget changes from site-to-site, but the basic idea is the same throughout. It should also be noted that DraftKings and Yahoo allow you use goaltenders.

Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay) - $15,500 (FanDuel), $16,500 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)

Kucherov has two goals and eight assists during a five-game point streak going into Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals against the New York Islanders. He has supplied four helpers in the series, which includes Tuesday's three-point performance. Kucherov has also recorded at least one point on the power play in each game during his scoring spree.

Mathew Barzal (NY Islanders) - $14,000 (FanDuel), $13,200 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Barzal has accounted for five goals and eight points in his past seven outings. He has lit the lamp in each of the first two matches of the Stanley Cup Semifinals against Tampa Bay, while posting three shots on goal in each contest. Barzal and Jordan Eberle are the only Islanders who have multiple points this round against the Lightning.

Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay) - $11,000 (FanDuel), $12,600 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)

Hedman’s first goal of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs was scored in Game 2 against the Islanders on Tuesday. He found the back of the net during a Tampa Bay power play. He also added an assist to give himself 13 points in 13 matches this postseason.

Alex Killorn (Tampa Bay) - $8,500 (FanDuel), $10,500 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)

Killorn’s five-game point streak was halted in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals on Tuesday. He has produced six goals and 13 points in 13 contests this postseason. Killorn has been playing in all situations for the Lightning and he hasn’t gone more than one game without registering a point in the playoffs. Additionally, he has fairly good cap hits across the board for Thursday's slate.
