NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
There is only one game scheduled for tonight, which brings a different format. On FanDuel, you’ll be picking a Captain, who will give you 1.5x points, and four utility players with a budget of $55,000. DraftKings will have you pick a Captain worth 1.5x points and five flex players with a budget of $50,000. For Yahoo, you’ll be picking a Superstar worth 1.5x points and four flex players with a budget of $130. In other words, the terminology and budget changes from site-to-site, but the basic idea is the same throughout. It should also be noted that DraftKings and Yahoo allow you use goaltenders.
Alex Pietrangelo (Vegas) - $13,500 (FanDuel), $14,400 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)
Pietrangelo has four goals and 11 points in 18 games this postseason. He has lit the lamp three times against Montreal during the Stanley Cup Semifinals and he has come up big in the previous two rounds in elimination games. Pietrangelo has been held off the scoresheet in the past two games, but he has seven shots on target and six blocks. He has racked up a league-high 70 shots in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Nick Suzuki (Montreal) - $14,000 (FanDuel), $12,900 (DraftKings), $20 (Yahoo)
Suzuki is coming off a three-point performance in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals on Tuesday when he had one goal and two assists. He has generated one goal and four helpers during a three-game point streak going into Thursday’s contest. Suzuki also has nine shots on goal during that stretch.
Mark Stone (Vegas) - $9,000 (FanDuel), $12,000 (DraftKings), $28 (Yahoo)
Stone has been held off the scoresheet for the last six games, including all five games against Montreal during the Stanley Cup Semifinals. He checks in at some solid cap hits as a result and could be worth a roll of the dice because of the bang for the buck upside. Vegas needs some of their top-six forwards to step up in Game 6 to extend the series and Stone is capable of making an impact. He had five goals and eight points in 12 outings this postseason prior to his scoring slump.
Cole Caufield (Montreal) - $10,000 (FanDuel), $10,800 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)
Caufield has continued to improve as the postseason has progressed. He has potted three goals against Vegas in the Stanley Cup Semifinals after he didn’t find the back of the net in his first nine NHL playoff outings. Caufield has been held off the scoresheet once in his past seven appearance, while registering three goals and three assists during that span along with 21 shots on net. He also has stack appeal with Suzuki and/or Tyler Toffoli on Thursday night.
Alec Martinez (VGK) - $9,500 (FanDuel), $20 (Yahoo), Reilly Smith (VGK) - $8,000 (FanDuel), $9,000 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo), Nicolas Roy (VGK) - $9,500 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo), Paul Byron (MON) - $9,500 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $11 (Yahoo)
