NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBCSports Edge’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are six games in the NHL on Sunday. The New York Islanders-New York Rangers game was postponed due to the COVID outbreak on the Islanders.

Auston Matthews (Toronto), C, $9,100 (FanDuel), $9,200 (Draft Kings), $34 (Yahoo)

Matthews was the early favourite to repeat as the Rocket Richard Trophy winner but is 11 goals behind the leader Leon Draisaitl and needs to make up ground quickly. He has a two-game goal scoring streak and has nine goals and 18 points in 19 games. The Leafs complete their California trop against Anaheim and look for Mattthews to have a big game.

Troy Terry (Anaheim), W, $7,100 (FanDuel), $5,600 (Draft Kings), $22 (Yahoo)

Terry has been one of the big stories this season as he just completed a 16-game scoring streak. He found the back of the net Friday against Ottawa for his 13th of the year and has 23 points in 20 games. He has already beaten his career high in points as he had 20 in 48 games last season. He is a big bargain in Draft Kings.

Timo Meier (San Jose), W, $7,400 (FanDuel), $6,300 (Draft Kings), $24 (Yahoo)

After a couple of so-so seasons, Meier has returned to glory. He had 30 goals and 66 points in the 2018-19 season as a 22-year-old but had only 49 and 22 points respectively in his last two seasons. This season has been different as he is the Sharks leading offensive threat. Meier has seven goals and 18 points in only 15 games and is dangerous offensively every time he skates on the ice.

Bargain Bin: Trevor Zegras (Anaheim), C $5,600 (FanDuel), $3,900 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo), Dawson Mercer (New Jersey), C $4,700 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Tom Wilson (Washington), W $5,700 (FanDuel) $5,100 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Travis Konecny (Philadelphia), W $5,000 (FanDuel), $4,300 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo)

Dougie Hamilton (New Jersey), $6,900 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings), $26 (Yahoo)

Hamilton has gone the last three games without a point so you know he is due. Hamilton is a streaky scorer and still has five goals and 10 points in 15 games. Hamilton is a goal scorer as far as defensemen are concerned as he has had 10 or more goals in each of his last seven seasons.

Charlie McAvoy (Boston), $6,800 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $20 (Yahoo)

McAvoy was on fire two weekends ago with five points in two games. The talented Boston blueliner plays against Vancouver Sunday at home and the Bruins could pile up a score. He has three goals and 13 points in 17 games and is nicely priced in Yahoo.

Bargain Bin:

Jamie Drysdale (Anaheim), $4,000 (FanDuel), $3,600 (DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo), Kevin Shattenkirk (Anaheim), $4,800 (FanDuel), $4,600 (Draft Kings), $12 (Yahoo), Erik Gustafsson (Chicago), $3,600 (FanDuel), $2,600 (Draft Kings), $11 (Yahoo)

Jack Campbell (Toronto), $8,100 (FanDuel), $8,000 (Draft Kings), $38 (Yahoo)

Campbell has been the NHL's top netminder this season and got a rare night off Friday in San Jose. Campbell takes on Anaheim on Sunday and is 11-4-1 with a microscopic 1.68 GAA and a .943 save percentage. Nothing else needs to be said.

Other plays:

Marc-Andre Fleury (Chicago), $7,700 (FanDuel), $7,800 (DraftKings), $31 (Yahoo)
