NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are six games in the NHL on Sunday.

Forwards

Auston Matthews (Toronto) - C - $9,100 (FanDuel), $9,300 (Draft Kings), $35 (Yahoo)

Matthews has been great against Ottawa this season with six goals and four assists in five games and will get to continue his outstanding play Sunday night. He leads the NHL with 21 goals and is attempting to win his first Rocket Richard Trophy. Matthews has 35 points in 26 games and should add to that against the Senators.

Kirill Kaprizov (Minnesota) - W - $6,100 (FanDuel), $12,600 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Kaprizov is coming off a three-goal game Friday against the same Coyotes whom he will face Sunday afternoon. The ultra-talented winger leads all rookies with 10 goals as well as 23 points as he is pulling away from the competition, especially among skaters. Kaprizov has four goals and six points in his last five games.

William Nylander (Toronto) - W - $6,600 (FanDuel), $6,100 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)

Nylander is starring on the Leafs second line with John Tavares and Joe Thornton and that would be a first line on most NHL teams. Nylander has 12 goals and 23 points this season with goals in each of his last two games. He also gets top line minutes on the Toronto power play which is second-best to Carolina in the NHL.

Bargain Bin: Jordan Staal (Carolina) – C - $5,100 (FanDuel), $5,800 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo), Brock Nelson (Islanders) – C - $5,600 (FanDuel), $5,000 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo) Adrian Kempe (Los Angeles) – W - $5,700 (FanDuel) $5,700 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Martin Necas (Carolina) – W - $4,500 (FanDuel), $5,500 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo)

Defensemen:

Dougie Hamilton (Carolina) - $5,900 (FanDuel), $7,100 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)

Hamilton is tied for fourth place among defensemen scoring with 20 points and has 12 on the NHL’s best power play which he quarterbacks. Hamilton is not scoring as he did last season with only two goals, compared to 14 last year in 47 games but is on a seven-game points streak where he has a goal and nine points.

Jakob Chychrun (Arizona) - $4,400 (FanDuel), $13,500 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)

Chychrun saw his three-game points streak end Friday but he is among the top defensemen in goals with seven and points with 19. Chychrun is showing his offensive prowess that was predicted for him when he was drafted 16th overall in 2016 and at the age of 22, he has plenty of time before he hits his peak.

Bargain Bin:

Filip Hronek (Detroit) - $3,800 (FanDuel), $3,900 (DraftKings), $10 (Yahoo), Seth Jones (Columbus) $5,000 (FanDuel), $5,400 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

Antti Raanta (Arizona) - $7,300 (FanDuel), $15,900 (Draft Kings), $24 (Yahoo)

Raanta was outstanding last game, stopping 44-of-46 shots in a 2-1 loss to Colorado. He is 4-2-2 with a 3.39 GAA and a .912 save percentage and has played quite well in three of his last four appearances. He faces the Wild on Sunday.

Other plays: Joonas Korpisalo (Columbus) - $7,000 (FanDuel), $7,500 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)
