NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports Edge’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are two games in the NHL Sunday.

Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado) - C - $8,700 (FanDuel), $9,200 (Draft Kings), $35 (Yahoo)

If you are going to spend, might as well spend big and MacKinnon is the highest priced player in DFS Sunday. But you are getting the NHL’s leading playoff scorer on a points-per-game basis as he has 13 points in only seven games (1.86 points-per-game) and is second overall, four points behind Nikita Kucherov who has played in three more games. MacKinnon was pointless on Friday and has only one point in his last two games, so he is ready to explode once again.

Mikko Rantanen (Colorado) - W - $8,100 (FanDuel), $7,900 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)

I love taking a complete line (you can also take Gabriel Landeskog to complete the unit) and Rantanen has been one of the best forwards in the last few seasons in the NHL. He had 30 goals and 66 points in 52 regular season games and has a seven-game points streak in the playoffs with four goals and seven assists. He has goals in four straight games and it should be difficult to keep him out of your DFS lineup.

Blake Wheeler (Winnipeg) -W- $6,900 (Fan Duel), $5,600 (Draft Kings), $20 (Yahoo)

Wheeler has yet to pick up a point in two games against Montreal, but did have two goals and seven points in the four-game sweep over Edmonton. He was hot entering the playoffs as well, with five goals and nine assists in the final nine games of the regular season. The Jets are down 2-0 in the best-of-seven series and need an offensive breakout to make it a series. With Mark Scheifele and Paul Stastny out of the lineup, Wheeler needs to come up with a big game.

Bargain Bin: Nick Suzuki (Montreal) - C - $5,600 (FanDuel), $5,700 (Draft Kings), $19

(Yahoo) J.T. Compher (Colorado) – C - $3,300 (FanDuel) $2,900 (DraftKings), $15 (Yahoo), Valeri Nichushkin (Colorado) – W - $3,800 (FanDuel), $2,700 (Draft Kings), $14 (Yahoo), Nikolaj Ehlers (Winnipeg) – W - $6,500 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

Alex Pietrangelo (Vegas) - $6,200 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $20 (Yahoo)

Pietrangelo has only four assists in 10 playoff games but has been coming on of late with an assist on Friday as well as nine shots on goal over the last two games. Pietrangelo had a tough season with only seven goals and 23 points in 41 games but he is ready to break out and Sunday at home could be the night.

Josh Morrissey (Winnipeg) - $3,900 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)

Morrissey saw his three-game points streak end on Friday when the Jets were shutout 1-0 by the Canadiens but he had a goal and five points during the streak. Morrissey had only four goals and 21 points during the 56-game regular season but has come on in the playoffs with four points in six games. He is quarterbacking the top power play unit and that certainly doesn’t hurt.

Bargain Bin:

Samuel Girard (Colorado) - $4,700 (FanDuel), $3,900 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo), Neal Pionk (Winnipeg) - $4,700 (FanDuel), $4,600 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo)

Philipp Grubauer (Colorado) - $8,300 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings), $30 (Yahoo)

Grubauer lost his first game of the playoffs on Friday but still managed to stop 40-of-43 shots in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights. Grubauer is 6-1 thus far in the playoffs and has a 1.86 GAA and a .941 save percentage. That is some outstanding goaltending!

Other plays: Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg) - $7,500 (FanDuel), $7,400 (Draft Kings), $31 (Yahoo)
