There are four games in the NHL Sunday with the Carolina-Nashville game only available in tiers on Draft Kings.
Connor McDavid (Edmonton) - C - $8,600 (FanDuel), $9,100 (Draft Kings), $35 (Yahoo)
The Jets have shut down the NHL’s best player the last two games and the betting here is that they will not do it three games in a row. McDavid was outstanding in the regular season with 105 points in 56 games and it was far and away, the best performance in the last 30 years from an NHLer, save for possibly Mario Lemieux. That is heady company and he is worth putting in your DFS lineup Sunday.
Mikko Rantanen (Colorado) - W - $8,200 (FanDuel), $7,900 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
If you are going with a complete line, take the Avs top unit. Rantanen has yet to score but does have five assists in three games after a great regular season when he had 30 goals and 66 points in 52 games, finishing tied for fifth in NHL scoring. Combining him with Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog is not the worst move in winning in daily fantasy Sunday.
Gabriel Landeskog (Colorado) -W- $7,000 (Fan Duel), $6,400 (Draft Kings), $30 (Yahoo)
As mentioned above, the Avalanche top line is outstanding and Landeskog is a vital cog as the captain has a goal and six points in three games, one point behind MacKinnon who has five goals and seven points in three games. The trio with Rantanen, have been the NHL’s best in the post-season, much to the Blues chagrin.
Bargain Bin: J.T. Compher (Colorado) - C - $3,400 (FanDuel), $2,700 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo) David Krejci (Boston) – C - $5,700 (FanDuel) $4,500 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo), Blake Wheeler (Winnipeg) – W - $6,900 (FanDuel), $5,500 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo), Jesse Puljujarvi (Edmonton) – W - $4,100 (FanDuel), $4,600 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)
Darnell Nurse (Edmonton) - $5,300 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)
The Oilers have to get their offense started and Nurse was outstanding in the regular season, with 16 goals and 36 points in 56 games. He has an assist on the Oilers only goal in the first two games and if Edmonton is to get back in the series, Nurse could explode offensively.
Cale Makar (Colorado) - $5,600 (FanDuel), $5,700 (DraftKings), $28 (Yahoo)
Makar has been outstanding since making his NHL debut in the playoffs two seasons ago. He has only a goal and an assist in three playoff games after scoring eight times with 36 helpers in 44 games during the regular season.
Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg) - $7,300 (FanDuel), $7,500 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
Hellebuyck has shown why he was the Vezina Trophy winner in the 2019-20 season in the first two games of the 2021 playoffs, giving up only one goal to the high-scoring Oilers on 71 shots. Hellebuyck has been the star of the show in the first week of the Stanley Cup playoffs and with the series in Winnipeg for Game 3, look for Hellebuyck to shine again.
Other plays: Ilya Samsonov (Washington) - $7,400 (FanDuel), $7,400 (Draft Kings), $26 (Yahoo)
