NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Typically, FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G), but the rules are different for days like today because there is only one game. For both FanDuel and DraftKings, you can just pick whichever players you believe will serve you best, regardless of position. Today’s article has been adjusted with that in mind.

Of the players playing today, Barzal has been one of the most consistent producers in the 2020 playoffs. He’s recorded at least a point in five of his last six games and he’s only been held off the scoresheet three times in his last 12 contests. He’s up to five goals and 13 points in 15 playoff contests this year.
Kevin Hayes (Philadelphia) - $10,500 FanDuel, $12,600 DraftKings
The Flyers decision to sign Hayes to a seven-year, $50 million contract was questionable when they agreed to it and his mediocre 2019-20 campaign didn’t do anything to make that contract look like anything other than an overpaid. Hayes’ playoff run might be changing minds though. He’s stepped up in the 2020 postseason with four goals and 13 points in 15 contests, including four points in his last three games.
Scott Laughton (Philadelphia) - $7,500 FanDuel, $8,400 DraftKings
If you’re looking for someone cheaper, Laughton is an interesting option. He’s done well in his last two games with two goals and three points. He’s also had a solid playoff run overall, scoring five goals and nine points in 14 contests. He’s not a safe bet, but the price is right.
Bargain Bin: Derick Brassard (NYI) – $7,000 FanDuel/$5,400 DraftKings, Scott Mayfield (NYI) - $6,500 FanDuel/$7,500 DraftKings, Robert Hagg (PHI) - $6,000 FanDuel/$3,900 DraftKings, Cal Clutterbuck (NYI) - $6,000 FanDuel/$3,000 DraftKings.
