NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are 10 games in the NHL on Saturday.

Forwards

Auston Matthews (Toronto) - C - $8,700 (FanDuel), $8,500 (Draft Kings), $34 (Yahoo)

Matthews saw his eight-game goal scoring streak come to an end Wednesday but he still picked up an assist to give him an 11-game points streak. He has been held off the scoresheet just once this season and leads the NHL with 11 goals and is fourth in shots on goal with 55. Matthews also leads the league with five game-winning goals in only 13 games.

Aleksander Barkov (Florida) – C - $6,900 (FanDuel), $7,100 (Draft Kings), $29 (Yahoo)

Barkov snapped a two-game pointless drought Thursday with an assist against Tampa Bay and faces the Lightning once again Saturday. Barkov is centering a line with Carter Verhaeghe and Anthony Duclair. I love taking lines and you can get Veghaeghe and Duclair cheap, making it a great second line in DFS. Barkov has 12 points in 13 games and is a nice price in FanDuel.

Mitch Marner (Toronto) - W - $7,900 (FanDuel), $6,700 (DraftKings), $32 (Yahoo)

Marner is off to a terrific start with 21 points in 14 games, good enough for third place in NHL scoring, behind only Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. The slick winger saw his eight-game points streak come to an end Wednesday against Montreal and will look to start a new streak Saturday against the same foe.

Tyler Toffoli (Montreal) - W - $6,400 (FanDuel), $7,000 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)

Toffoli is looking to break out of his first slump of the season as he has gone four games with nary a point. He still has nine goals and 13 points in 14 games but his slump coincides with the Canadiens recent streak of indifferent play. They have a big game against Toronto Saturday and it is a must-win so they need Toffoli to be at the top of his offensive game.

Filip Forsberg (Nashville) -W- $7,100 (Fan Duel) $6,900 (Draft Kings), $22 (Yahoo)

Forsberg has been the big gunner in Nashville this season with six goals and 13 points in 14 games. Forsberg has not been shy about shooting the puck as he is third in the NHL with 57 shots, five behind Brady Tkachuk and four in arrears of Connor McDavid.

Bargain Bin: Christian Dvorak (Arizona) - C - $5,600 (FanDuel), $6,500 (Draft Kings), $20 (Yahoo), Kevin Stenlund (Columbus) - C - $3,500 (FanDuel), $3,400 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo) Mike Hoffman (St. Louis) – W - $5,400 (FanDuel) $4,600 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), J.T. Miller (Vancouver) – W - $6,200 (FanDuel), $5,200 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo)

Defensemen:

Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay) - $7,200 (FanDuel), $7,100 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)

Hedman is off to a great start with three goals and 11 assists in only 12 games. Hedman has not had less than 54 points in any of his last four seasons with 72 in the 2016-17 season. In addition, he has been in double-digits in goals in each of the last seven seasons. He is a bit pricey but well worth it.

Quinn Hughes (Vancouver) - $5,700 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Hughes has 17 points in 17 games and is three points up on Hedman and Jeff Petry (next on this list) for the lead among NHL defensemen. The Canucks have been a bad team this season and have been falling behind early as their 6-11-0 record indicates, forcing Vancouver to play a come-from-behind game and open things up. For that reason, Hughes is always a good play in DFS.

Jeff Petry (Montreal) - $6,000 (Fan Duel), $6,700 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)

Petry has been a stud this season but like most Canadiens, have slumped in the last four games as he has only a goal. Still, Petry has six goals and 14 points in 14 games and will look to get back on track Saturday against Toronto.

Bargain Bin:

Morgan Rielly (Toronto) - $5,300 (FanDuel), $5,200 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Vladislav Gavrikov (Columbus) $3,600 (FanDuel), $2,600 (Draft Kings), $10 (Yahoo), Brett Pesce (Carolina) - $3,800 (FanDuel), $3,300 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay) - $8,600 (FanDuel), $8,300 (Draft Kings), $38 (Yahoo)

Vasilevskiy finally picked up his second loss of the season Thursday, and will get a chance to redeem himself Saturday against the same Florida Panthers. He is 8-2-1 with a 2.00 GAA and a .929 save percentage and is still the best goaltender in the NHL.

Frederik Andersen (Toronto) - $8,400 (FanDuel), $7,800 (DraftKings), $31 (Yahoo)

The Maple Leafs are one of the top teams in the NHL at 11-2-1 and Andersen has been a big part of that with a 9-2-1 record with a 2.59 GAA and a .908 save percentage. He has won four in a row and faces the Canadiens for the second straight game after giving up two goals on 35 shots Wednesday in Montreal. He gets them at home tonight.

Other plays: Antti Raanta (Arizona) - $8,100 (FanDuel), $6,900 (DraftKings), $37 (Yahoo), Tuukka Rask (Boston) - $8,500 (FanDuel), $8,000 (Draft Kings), $37 (Yahoo)
