NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBCSports Edge's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are 10 games in the NHL on Saturday.
Auston Matthews (Toronto) - C - $8,900 (FanDuel), $8,800 (Draft Kings), $36 (Yahoo)
Matthews has had trouble scoring against Montreal as he has yet to light the lamp in three games. But he does have three assists as well as 15 shots on goal and it is just a matter of time before the NHL’s leading goal scorer with 16, scores against the Canadiens. He is fourth in NHL scoring with 25 points and is always a must-start in DFS.
Elias Lindholm (Calgary) – C - $6,200 (FanDuel), $5,800 (Draft Kings), $20 (Yahoo)
Lindholm is pointless in his last two games but has five goals and 16 points thus far in 17 contests. He is vastly underrated and is a great price as your second center in DFS Saturday.
Bryan Rust (Pittsburgh) - W - $6,300 (FanDuel), $6,900 (DraftKings), $25 (Yahoo)
Rust has been on a tear of late with four goals and eight points in his last five games. Believe it or not, he leads the Penguins in points with 15 in 15 games and is playing on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and Jason Zucker as well as the top power play.
Andrei Svechnikov (Carolina) - W - $6,500 (FanDuel), $6,300 (DraftKings), $25 (Yahoo)
Svechnikov saw his four-game points streak end Friday and while he has six goals and 14 points in 15 games, the talented winger has not found the back of the net in his last seven games. He is due as the 20-year-old is one of the best young talents in the game.
Mike Hoffman (St. Louis) -W- $5,700 (Fan Duel) $5,500 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo)
Hoffman has really come on of late after a slow start. He has five goals and 10 points in his last 10 games after beginning the season with only a goal and an assist in his first six as he was getting used to life with the Blues. The winger is playing with Brayden Schenn and Zach Sanford on the second line as well as seeing first power play time this seson. He is a good inexpensive play in DFS.
Bargain Bin: Jack Roslovic (Columbus) - C - $5,000 (FanDuel), $5,200 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo), Sam Bennett (Calgary) – C/W - $3,300 (FanDuel), $2,900 (DraftKings), $11 (Yahoo) Teuvo Teravainen (Carolina) – W - $5,900 (FanDuel) $5,400 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Kirill Kaprizov (Minnesota) – W - $4,600 (FanDuel), $4,800 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo)
Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay) - $7,200 (FanDuel), $7,000 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)
Hedman is off to a great start with three goals and 12 assists in only 14 games. Hedman has not had less than 54 points in any of his last four seasons with 72 in the 2016-17 season. In addition, he has been in double-digits in goals in each of the last seven seasons. He is a bit pricey but well worth it.
Tyson Barrie (Edmonton) - $5,500 (FanDuel), $6,400 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)
Barrie has taken advantage of signing with the high-scoring Oilers and has three goals and 15 points in 19 games. He had five goals and 39 points in his one season with Toronto last year and has regained his status as one of the best offensive defensemen in the NHL. He is a bargain in Yahoo and FanDuel.
Jakob Chychrun (Arizona) - $4,400 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)
While most still think of Oliver Ekman-Larsson as the offensive star of the Arizona blueline, the answer really is the 22-year-old Chychrun. He has three goals and 11 points in 16 games with the Coyotes this season and is on the second power play with OEL now back in the lineup. Chychrun is a huge bargain in FanDuel and Yahoo and is a great play against the Kings.
Rasmus Andersson (Calgary) - $4,300 (FanDuel), $4,200 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo), Alexander Romanov (Montreal) $3,600 (FanDuel), $3,700 (Draft Kings), $13 (Yahoo), Brett Pesce (Carolina) - $4,000 (FanDuel), $4,300 (Draft Kings), $14 (Yahoo)
Darcy Kuemper (Arizona) - $7,900 (FanDuel), $8,300 (Draft Kings), $31 (Yahoo)
Kuemper is having another great season despite his average record as he is 5-6-2 with a 2.22 GAA and a .920 save percentage as he has handled most of the goaltending duties with Antti Raanta being on the shelf. Kuemper is 3-1-1 in his last five games, giving up only eight goals on 146 shots. He gets the Kings once again Saturday and is looking to redeem himself after giving up an overtime goal in a 3-2 shootout loss Thursday.
Frederik Andersen (Toronto) - $8,600 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
The Maple Leafs are one of the top teams in the NHL at 13-3-2 and Andersen has been a big part of that with a 10-3-2 record with a 2.67 GAA and a .905 save percentage. He received a much need night off on Thursday as Michael Hutchinson got his first start of the season. We shall see how the extra day’s rest helps him Saturday as the Maple Leafs play Montreal. Andersen is 2-1-0 against the Habs this season, allowing eight goals on 92 shots but only four goals on 60 shots in his last two games.
