NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBCSports Edge’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).
There are 12 games in the NHL on Saturday.
Leon Draisaitl (Edmonton), C $9,900 (FanDuel), $9,200 (Draft Kings), $35 (Yahoo)
It was tough picking between Draisaitl and his teammate Connor McDavid but either pick is a good one as they are one-two in NHL scoring. Draisaitl leads the NHL with 17 goals and 33 points and is three points ahead of McDavid. They take on a hot Chicago team but the Blackhawks may not be able to stay with the Oilers at home.
Nick Suzuki (Montreal), C $6,900 (FanDuel), $5,300 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo)
Suzuki will look to get back on the scoresheet after going pointless in his last four games. He is a great price in Draft Kings and still has four goals and 14 points in 19 games. Suzuki is a talent and one of the few on the Canadiens at this time. He sees plenty of ice time as he is averaging 19:21 per game.
Patrick Kane (Chicago), W $8,900 (FanDuel), $8,100 (Draft Kings), $32 (Yahoo)
Kane is off to a great start despite missing action in COVID protocol. The talented winger has six goals and 17 points in 12 games with five goals and 12 points coming in the seven games since he returned from the illness. The Blackhawks have been hot of late, winning four in a row under new head coach Derek King, making Kane a good play at this time.
Mitch Marner (Toronto), W $7,600 (FanDuel), $7,300 (Draft Kings), $28 (Yahoo)
When Marner is hot, boy is he hot. But this season he has been cold a lot more than hot. Still his four goals and 15 points in 18 games is okay, but not so for the winger who was fourth in NHL scoring last season with 67 points in 55 games. He is worth a shot tonight as the Leafs take on Pittsburgh.
Timo Meier (San Jose), C/W $7,300 (FanDuel), $6,200 (Draft Kings), $21 (Yahoo)
Meier has a goal and three assists in four games since returning from COVID protocol. Before the illness, Meier was on fire, scoring five goals and adding six assists in only eight games. He is nicely priced in Draft Kings and Yahoo. Meier is only 25 and has had a 30-goal season in the 2018-19 season but did slump in his last two seasons before regaining his form this season.
Bargain Bin: Ryan Hartman (Minnesota), C/W $4,600 (FanDuel), $4,600 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo), Anthony Cirelli (Tampa Bay), C/W $5,300 (FanDuel), $4,300 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo), Boone Jenner (Columbus), C/W $4,600 (FanDuel) $5,700 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo), Reilly Smith (Vegas), W $5,000 (FanDuel), $4,100 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo), Jesper Bratt (New Jersey), W $4,100 (FanDuel), $3,800 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo)

Dougie Hamilton (New Jersey), $7,000 (FanDuel), $7,400 (Draft Kings), $28 (Yahoo)
Hamilton has been scoring at great pace with five goals and 10 points in 12 games. Hamilton has three goals in his last four games with an assist as he has really helped out the Devils scoring from the blueline.
Brent Burns (San Jose), $6,200 (FanDuel), $7,000 (Draft Kings), $20 (Yahoo)
Burns has not had a point in his last three games but does have a goal and 12 points in 16 games. Burns has returned to form after a couple of weak seasons, especially last season when he had seven goals and 29 points in 56 games. He should be closer to 55-60 points this season as the Sharks look to be a much better team than in their previous two campaigns.
Tyson Barrie (Edmonton), $5,500 (FanDuel), $5,600 (Draft Kings), $16 (Yahoo)
The Oilers have lost Darnell Nurse for a while so look for Barrie to end his six-game pointless drought. Barrie led all defensemen in points last season with 48 and while his two goals and eight points in 16 games are so-so, playing with McDavid and Draisaitl on the power play certainly won’t hurt his points potential. The Oilers play Chicago tonight and look for Barrie to break loose.
Shayne Gostisbehere (Arizona), $5,000 (FanDuel), $5,200 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo), Oliver Kylington (Calgary), $4,300 (FanDuel), $3,500 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo), Evan Bouchard (Edmonton), $4,300 (FanDuel), $5,400 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo), Nicolas Hague (Vegas), $4,000 (FanDuel), $3,600 (Draft Kings), $16 (Yahoo)
Jack Campbell (Toronto), $8,700 (FanDuel), $8,300 (Draft Kings), $38 (Yahoo)
Campbell has been outstanding this season as he leads all NHL goalkeepers with a 1.63 GAA and a .944 save percentage while being tied with former teammate Frederik Andersen for the league-lead in wins with 10. Campbell is on a four-game winning streak, giving up only two goals on 119 shots so you should definitely play him on this hot streak.
Jacob Markstrom (Calgary), $7,900 (FanDuel), $7,600 (Draft Kings), $41 (Yahoo)
Markstrom has been outstanding for the most part this season as he is 6-3-4 with a 1.68 GAA and a .942 save percentage, trailing only Campbell in the latter two categories. Markstrom is coming off a shutout of the Buffalo Sabres and gets the New York Islanders who will open their new arena Saturday.
