NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBCSports EDGE’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are 11 games in the NHL on Saturday.
Auston Matthews (Toronto) - C - $8,200 (FanDuel), $8,900 (Draft Kings), $35 (Yahoo)
Matthews has had some time to let his wrist issues heal as the Maple Leafs have played only three times in the last 13 days. He has gone five games without a goal but still is tied for the NHL lead with 21. Matthews has three goals in four games against the Oilers and should add to that total at home Saturday night.
Mika Zibanejad (New York Rangers) – C - $7,600 (FanDuel), $7,700 (Draft Kings), $27 (Yahoo)
Zibanejad been the hottest player in the NHL, especially against the Flyers. He entered the game of March 17 with three goals and 11 points in 27 games. He has seven goals and 15 points in his last five games, including a pair of six-point nights against the Flyers. Zibanejad is practically shouting at you to take him this afternoon in DFS.
Mikko Rantanen (Colorado) - W - $8,400 (FanDuel), $7,200 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
Rantanen is riding an eight-game scoring streak with seven goals and 14 points, giving him 19 goals and 39 points in 32 games. He plays on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon as well as the first power play and is among the top-ten scorers in the NHL. There is not much more you can ask for, especially since he is a bargain in DraftKings.
Pavel Buchnevich (New York Rangers) - W - $5,400 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)
Playing with Mika Zibanejad has been gold this last 10 days as Buchnevich has five goals and nine points in five games. Or maybe Zibanejad has also been fortunate to be playing with Buchnevich. Whatever the case, the duo have been red hot of late and are both worth taking, especially against the reeling Flyers. Buchnevich has 31 points in 31 games in a breakout season.
Gabriel Landeskog (Colorado) – W - $6,800 (FanDuel), $6,700 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)
Landeskog is the third member of the MacKinnon-Rantanen line and has been close to as valuable in DFS. Landeskog is riding a seven-game point streak with four goals and 13 points and has 11 goals and 29 points in 30 games on the season. I am a big fan of taking whole lines in DFS and you could do a lot worse than the Avs top unit.
Bargain Bin: Yanni Gourde (Tampa Bay) – C - $4,600 (FanDuel), $4,600 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo), Jean-Gabriel Pageau (NY Islanders) – C - $4,500 (FanDuel), $4,500 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo) Oliver Wahlstrom (NY Islanders) – W - $4,000 (FanDuel) $3,400 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Radim Zohorna (Pittsburgh) – W - $3,000 (FanDuel), $2,500 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo)
Dougie Hamilton (Carolina) - $6,500 (FanDuel), $6,800 (DraftKings), $26 (Yahoo)
Hamilton continues to be red-hot of late and is on a 13-game point streak, with two goals and 13 assists including his first ever shorthanded goal. He is up to three goals and 26 points in 32 games and after a 40-point season last year in 47 games, he is one of the top offensive defensemen in the NHL.
Adam Fox (NY Rangers) - $5,600 (FanDuel), $6,100 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)
Fox has been red-hot with a five-game point streak in which he has a goal and 10 assists. That’s Bobby Orr territory. Fox had a five-assist night on Thursday against the Flyers, Saturday’s opponent. The slick defenseman has three goals and 26 points in 31 games as he continues to climb the points standings. Fifteen of his 26 points have come with the man-advantage.
Seth Jones (Columbus) - $5,400 (FanDuel), $5,200 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)
Jones has three goals and seven points in his last five games as he has come out of his slump that plagued him early in the season. The Blue Jackets blueliner has four goals and 20 points in 34 games and has 77 shots on goal. He has some nice value in Yahoo.
Matt Grzelcyk (Boston) - $4,200 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo), Devon Toews (Colorado) $4,600 (FanDuel), $5,600 (Draft Kings), $19 (Yahoo), Jake Muzzin (Toronto) - $4,100 (FanDuel), $4,400 (Draft Kings), $17 (Yahoo)
Juuse Saros (Nashville) - $7,500 (FanDuel), $7,100 (Draft Kings), $32 (Yahoo)
Saros has won five of his last six decisions as he has raised his record to 8-6-0 with a 2.48 GAA and a .920 save percentage. He has not given up more than two goals in any of his last nine starts and is a terrific price in all DFS matches on Saturday.
Laurent Brossoit (Winnipeg) - $8,400 (FanDuel), $7,000 (DraftKings), $30 (Yahoo)
Brossoit has played very well as the Jets backup and gets the second half of back-to-back games against Calgary, as Connor Hellebuyck is set to get the night off after playing Friday. Brossoit has given up only eight goals in his last five starts and enters Saturday night with a 5-2-0 record to go with a 2.43 GAA and a .920 save percentage. He is quite pricey in FanDuel.
