NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).
Monday has 10 games on the schedule, including a 4:00 p.m. ET start between Tampa Bay and Nashville.
Connor McDavid (Edmonton) - C - $9,100 (FanDuel), $9,200 (DraftKings), $35 (Yahoo)
McDavid has a heavy cap hit across the board, but he’s worth spending up for right now. He has generated three goals and nine assists during a five-game point streak. He has four multi-point efforts, 23 shots on target and four power-play helpers during that span. Additionally, McDavid has accumulated five goals and 10 points in four previous matches against Calgary this season.
Aleksander Barkov (Florida) - C - $7,400 (FanDuel), $6,900 (DraftKings), $29 (Yahoo)
Barkov has three goals and seven helpers in seven games this month. He is coming off a three-point performance, which included a pair of goals on five shots, on Saturday versus Chicago. Barkov has accounted for six points, including four assists and 13 shots, in three games against the Blackhawks this year.
Mark Stone (Vegas) - W - $7,500 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $29 (Yahoo)
Stone has amassed five goals and nine assists in his last seven appearances. He has not been held off the scoresheet during that span. Stone has also been productive against San Jose this campaign with two goals and two helpers in three contests. Additionally, he has racked up 21 of his 31 points on home ice this year.
David Perron (St. Louis) - W - $7,100 (FanDuel), $6,200 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)
Perron has registered five goals and five assists in the last nine games. His eight-game point streak was snapped on Saturday, but he stands a good chance to get back on the scoresheet on Monday. Perron has racked up four goals and four helpers in six previous meetings with Los Angeles this year. He has 29 points and 78 shots in 28 games this campaign.
Brady Tkachuk (Ottawa) - W - $6,300 (FanDuel), $7,000 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)
Tkachuk has picked up two goals, one assist, eight shots and 13 hits in the last two games. He leads the league in shots on goal (132) and hits (134), while supplying 11 goals and 21 points in 31 contests. He checks plenty of boxes and has the potential to fill the stat sheet on most nights.
Ondrej Palat (Tampa Bay) - W - $6,400 (FanDuel)), $26 (Yahoo)
Palat is riding five-game point streak going into Monday’s match against Nashville. He has produced two goals and eight assists during that stretch along with 16 shots on target. Palat has one goal and five helpers on the man advantage during that span as well. The Lightning power play, which ranks fourth in the league, should be able to take advantage of a Nashville penalty kill that sits last in the NHL.

Quinn Hughes (Vancouver) - $5,100 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)
Hughes has slowed down a bit offensively this month, but he still ranks among the top-scoring blueliners in the NHL and sits first among them with 22 assists. He also has plenty of bounce-back upside against a Senators team that played the night before. Hughes has enjoyed some success against Ottawa this season with one goal and four assists during a three-game point spree back in late January.
MacKenzie Weegar (Florida) - $4,100 (FanDuel), $4,100 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo)
Weegar has plenty of bang for the buck upside on Monday night thanks to an offensive hot streak and his category coverage. He has one goal and five assists over a four-game point streak. Weegar has also been credited with six shots, six hits and eight blocks during that span. He has contributed three assists in three games versus Chicago this year.
Bargain Bin: Neal Pionk (WPG) - $5,100 (FanDuel), $4,400 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo), Shayne Gostisbehere (PHI) - $4,400 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo), Adam Boqvist (CHI) - $3,800 (FanDuel), $3,600 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo), Erik Cernak (TB) - $3,600 (FanDuel), $17 (Yahoo)
Ilya Samsonov (Washington) - $8,200 (FanDuel), $8,400 (DraftKings), $33 (Yahoo)
If you can spare the cap space then Samsonov, or whoever plays for Washington, is in a great spot against a struggling Sabres team. Samsonov has won each of his last three starts, while blocking 94 of 102 shots for a .922 save percentage.
Thatcher Demko (Vancouver) - $7,000 (FanDuel), $8,000 (DraftKings), $31 (Yahoo)
Demko has won five of his last six games, while stopping 198 of 208 shots for a .952 save percentage. He has held the opposition to two goals or fewer in each of his five victories. Demko has also gone 2-0-0 versus Ottawa this season with a 1.00 goals-against average and .975 save percentage.
