NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Forwards:

Kirill Kaprizov (Minnesota) - W - $9,500 (FanDuel), $8,100 (DraftKings), $30 (Yahoo)

Kaprizov has picked up at least one point in each of his past eight appearances. He has racked up seven goals and eight assists during that span. That includes three markers and four helpers over a four-game point streak going into Monday’s match against Montreal

Chris Kreider (NY Rangers) - W - $8,300 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

Kreider has lit the lamp in each of his past five games, while scoring eight times during that span. He has potted two power-play goals and two shorthanded markers along with four at even strength. Kreider has also been credited with 19 shots and two assists over that stretch. He can be stacked with Mika Zibanejad against a Los Angeles team that player the nigh before.

Jordan Kyrou (St. Louis) - W - $7,800 (FanDuel), $6,100 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)

Kyrou has gone one game without a point in his past 10 outings going into the second half of a back-to-back situation for the Blues. He has seven goals and nine assists during that 10-game span along with 33 shots on target and four power-play points (one goal, three assists).

Roope Hintz (Dallas) - C - $7,400 (FanDuel), $6,900 (DraftKings), W - $20 (Yahoo)

Hintz has held off the scoresheet once in six games heading into Monday’s contest against Philadelphia. He has four goals, five assists and 29 shots during that stretch. That includes two goals and three helpers on the man advantage. Hintz has also provided two goals and three assists over a three-game point spree. He can be stacked with Jason Robertson and/or Joe Pavelski.

Defensemen:

Devon Toews (Colorado) - $6,600 (FanDuel), $5,100 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

Toews has collected one goal and four assists in a three-game point streak going into Monday’s game against Chicago. He has seven shots and four blocks during that span. Toews has supplied great category coverage this season, while having a career-year offensively with 31 points through 28 appearances.

Goaltenders:

Cam Talbot (Minnesota) - $7,800 (FanDuel), $8,500 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)

Talbot returned to the lineup on Saturday after being sidelined for five games due to a lower-body injury. Kaapo Kahkonen has played well during his absence, but if he gets the nod on Monday then he gets a favorable matchup in his return to the crease. Montreal has the worst offense in the league, ranking 32nd overall in goals for per game played (2.18). Talbot also has great cap hits on FanDuel and Yahoo.
