NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

There is only one game scheduled for tonight, which brings a different format. On FanDuel, you’ll be picking a Captain, who will give you 1.5x points, and four utility players with a budget of $55,000. DraftKings will have you pick a Captain worth 1.5x points and five flex players with a budget of $50,000. For Yahoo, you’ll be picking a Superstar worth 1.5x points and four flex players with a budget of $130. In other words, the terminology and budget changes from site-to-site, but the basic idea is the same throughout. It should also be noted that DraftKings and Yahoo allow you use goaltenders.

Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay) - $14,000 (FanDuel), $15,300 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)

Kucherov returned to action in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals on Friday and played well after being limited to a mere 46 seconds of ice time against the New York Islanders in Game 6. It is believed he was dealing with a rib injury, but he insisted on Sunday that he is feeling fine. Kucherov leads the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs in scoring, with 27 points in 18 games, entering the Final. Cracking Montreal’s penalty kill is sure to be a key in the series for the Lightning and Kucherov’s presence in the lineup will help in that regard. He leads the postseason with 17 power-play points.

Other Plays: Carey Price (Montreal) - $14,700 (DraftKings), $33 (Yahoo), Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay) - $15,900 (DraftKings), $38 (Yahoo), Brayden Point (Tampa Bay) - $15,000 (FanDuel), $15,000 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay) - $13,000 (FanDuel), $12,900 (DraftKings), $30 (Yahoo)

Stamkos was only able to make what amounted to a cameo in the Stanley Cup Final a year ago, but he has been much more involved during his playoff run. He has supplied seven goals and 10 assists in 18 games. Stamkos is motivated to be much more of a factor in this series after cooling down a bit in the postseason from a hot start.

Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay) - $11,500 (FanDuel), $13,200 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

Hedman hasn’t gone more than two games without a point in the playoffs and he was solid in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals despite missing out on hitting the scoreboard. He had four shots on target, two hits and two blocks in the contest. Hedman is the scoring leader among blueliners in the postseason with 16 points in 18 contests. He also ranks second with 12 power-play points and it shouldn’t be much longer before he has more than just one goal in the postseason.

Cole Caufield (Montreal) - $10,000 (FanDuel), $11,700 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)

Caufield scored four times on 17 shots and added an assist in six games versus Vegas during the Stanley Cup Semifinals. He was held off the scoresheet in just one match in the series. Caufield can be stacked with Tyler Toffoli and/or Nick Suzuki in Monday’s contest, but there are sure to garner plenty of attention from Tampa Bay's shutdown combinations.
