NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

It's a busy holiday Monday with lots of afternoon action and only one night game.

Forwards

Aleksander Barkov (Florida) - C - $7,500 (FanDuel), $6,500 (DraftKings) $28 (Yahoo)

The Panthers have shuffled their lines around but Barkov remains the top center on the team. He is now playing with Frank Vatrano and Mike Hoffman but still plays with Jonathan Huberdeau and Evgenii Dadonov, in addition to Hoffman and Keith Yandle on the top power play. Barkov has only three assists in five games but that will change soon as he is due for a big game.

Mikko Rantanen (Colorado) - W - $7,900 (FanDuel), $7,100 (DraftKings) $26 (Yahoo)

Rantanen missed all of training camp but it doesn’t seem to have mattered to the Finnish star as he has three goals and six points thus far. He is a star on possibly the best line in hockey with Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog. I love taking the whole line in DFS and you can’t go wrong with the top line in Colorado.

Victor Olofsson (Buffalo) - W - $6,300 (FanDuel), $6,400 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Olofsson is off to a great start and it doesn’t hurt that he is seeing first line ice time with Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart. Olofsson has four goals and five points in five games and has shone on the power play where he has four of his five points including three goals.

Jonathan Huberdeau (Florida) – W $6,900 (FanDuel), $6,500 (DraftKings), $ 24 (Yahoo)

Huberdeau had 92 points last season and is off to a good start despite being unable to find the back of the net. He has five assists in five games and playing alongside Aleksander Barkov will not hurt his cause.

Bargain Bin:  Sam Reinhart (Buffalo) - W - $5,900 (FanDuel)/$6,300 (DraftKings)/ $17 (Yahoo) ,  Vladislav Namestnikov (Ottawa) - W - $5,000 (FanDuel)/$3,500 (DraftKings)/ $17 (Yahoo) ,  Sammy Blais (St. Louis) -W- $3,700 (FanDuel)/$4,000 (DraftKings)/ $14 (Yahoo)   Nazem Kadri -C- (Colorado) - $5 ,000 (FanDuel)/$4,200 (DraftKings) /$18 (Yahoo)

Defensemen:

John Carlson (Washington) - $6,600 (FanDuel), $6,200 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

Carlson is the NHL leader in points by a defenseman with 10 as he has two goals to go along with eight assists. He has been among the league leaders the last couple of seasons and this could be the year he leads in points as well as capturing his first Norris Trophy. He is a must-start.

Keith Yandle (Florida) - $5,700 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo)

Yandle has only a goal and an assist thus far and like his teammate Aleksander Barkov, Yandle is ready to explode. He quarterbacks the Florida power play which was second-best in the NHL last season, and his Monday opponent is New Jersey, which hasn’t set the league on fire this season.

Bargain Bin:

Cale Makar (Colorado) - $4,500 (FanDuel)/$4,500 (DraftKings)/ $17 (Yahoo) Matt Dumba (Minnesota) - $4,400 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings)/ $21 (Yahoo) Erik Brannstrom (Ottawa) - $3,600 (FanDuel), $3,300 (DraftKings)/ $10 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

Devan Dubnyk (Minnesota) - $7,800 (FanDuel), $7,800 (DraftKings), $32 (Yahoo)

The Wild have yet to win a game this season as they are 0-4-0 but Monday could be the day as they are in Ottawa to take on the Senators. The Wild have started poorly but there is still plenty of talent on the team, especially when Dubnyk is in the cage. He is 0-2-0 this season with a 4.56 GAA and a .872 save percentage but since he has been a member of the Wild, his worst GAA in the five previous seasons has been 2.54. He is worth a shot.

Bargain Bin:

 Jaroslav Halak (Boston)- $8,300 (FanDuel)/$8,400 (DraftKings)/$28 (Yahoo) Craig Anderson (Ottawa) $7,200 (FanDuel)/$7,300 (DraftKings)/ $20 (Yahoo)
