NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are only two games scheduled for tonight.

Forwards:

Kyle Connor (Winnipeg) – W - $9,000 FanDuel, $7,600 DraftKings, $31 Yahoo

Among those projected to play tonight, Connor is the standout player. He’s recorded at least a point in five straight games and six of his last seven contests. He’s up to 12 goals and 21 points in 16 contests in 2021-22.

Nikolaj Ehlers (Winnipeg) – W - $6,700 FanDuel, $6,700 DraftKings, $24 Yahoo

Teammate Ehlers is also hot right now, recording a point in four straight games. That gives him five goals and 12 points in 16 contests this season, which are some solid numbers for his price point.

Nazem Kadri (Colorado) – C - $6,000 FanDuel, $6,000 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

Kadri has been one of the most pleasant surprises so far this season. Through 13 games he’s scored five goals and 17 points this season. He’s been particularly effective lately with back-to-back three-point games. That also extended his point streak to seven contests. Grab him while he’s hot.

Bargain Bin: Jordan Eberle (SEA) - $5,800 FanDuel/$5,500 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Andrew Copp (WIN) - $5,400 FanDuel/$5,000 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Jaden Schwartz (SEA) - $4,800 FanDuel/$4,400 DraftKings/$13 Yahoo, Nils Hoglander (VAN) - $4,600 FanDuel/$3,500 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Alex Wennberg (SEA) - $4,200 FanDuel/$3,600 DraftKings/$13 Yahoo

Defensemen:

Quinn Hughes (Vancouver) - $6,300 FanDuel, $5,100 DraftKings, $17 Yahoo

Since making his debut, Hughes has been one of the league’s top offensive defensemen and that’s likely to be the case for a long time to come. He certainly has stayed in the upper echelon so far this season, scoring two goals and 14 points in 16 contests.

Bargain Bin: Samuel Girard (COL) - $4,700 FanDuel/$4,100 DraftKings/$15 Yahoo, Devon Toews (COL) - $4,600 FanDuel/$5,000 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Josh Morrissey (WIN) - $4,100 FanDuel/$4,500 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Darcy Kuemper (Colorado) - $8,500 FanDuel, $8,200 DraftKings, $29 Yahoo

Even if the options weren’t limited tonight, Kuemper would be a pretty good option. He’s been great lately, winning his last three starts while allowing a combined five goals over that span. That run has improved his season totals to 7-4-0 with a 2.56 GAA and .916 save percentage in 11 games. He’ll face Seattle tonight, which is in the bottom half of the league in scoring.

Bargain Bin: Eric Comrie (WIN) - $8,000 FanDuel/$7,800 DraftKings/$28 Yahoo
