NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are five games Friday night.

Forwards:

David Pastrnak (Boston) – W – $8,300 FanDuel, $9,000 DraftKings, $35 Yahoo

Pastrnak didn’t make his season debut until Jan. 30, but now that he’s healthy, he’s driving the Bruins’ offense. He already has five goals and seven points in three contests. Clearly his time on the sidelines hasn’t slowed him down.

Mark Stone (Vegas) – W – $7,700 FanDuel, $6,400 DraftKings, $28 Yahoo

Stone has been a pretty safe bet so far this season, recording at least a point in six of his first seven games. He already has two goals and 11 points in 2020-21. It also doesn’t hurt that the Golden Knights will be up against the lowly Los Angeles Kings tonight.

Aleksander Barkov (Florida) – C – $7,400 FanDuel, $7,500 DraftKings, $28 Yahoo

Barkov is another forward who has chipped in consistently in the early portion of the season. Through seven games, he’s only been held off the scoresheet once. He’s up to three goals and nine points this season.

Kevin Hayes (Philadelphia) – C – $6,800 FanDuel, $6,000 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

Hayes has gotten off to a great start with six goals and 11 points in 11 games. He’s showing no signs of slowing down either, scoring a goal in each of his last three contests. I don’t think Hayes is going to maintain anything close to this pace, but you may as well grab him while he’s hot.

Bargain Bin: Mikael Granlund (NAS) - $5,100 FanDuel/$4,200 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo, Anthony Duclair (FLA) - $4,800 FanDuel/$4,500 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Carter Verhaeghe (FLA) - $4,500 FanDuel/$4,700 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Filip Zadina (DET) - $3,400 FanDuel/$2,500 DraftKings/$11 Yahoo.

Defensemen:

Shea Theodore (Vegas) - $6,400 FanDuel, $6,900 DraftKings, $24 Yahoo

Theodore’s been consistent so far this season, recording at least a point in five of his first seven games. That gives him three goals and seven points so far this season. He set a career-high in 2019-20 with 46 points and it’s entirely possible that he would have surpassed that in 2020-21 if this wasn’t a shortened campaign.

Bargain Bin: Drew Doughty (LAK) - $5,800 FanDuel/$6,000 DraftKings/$17Yahoo, Aaron Ekblad (FLA) - $5,600 FanDuel/$6,500 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo, Charlie McAvoy (BOS) - $5,200 FanDuel/$5,300 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Mattias Ekholm (NAS) - $3,900 FanDuel/$3,400 DraftKings/$14 Yahoo.

Goaltenders:

Chris Driedger (Florida) - $7,500 FanDuel, $7,700 DraftKings, $31 Yahoo

The Panthers have been using Driedger sparingly, but he’s been effective in his limited use. Last season, he posted a 7-2-1 record, 2.05 GAA, and .938 save percentage in 12 games and so far in 2020-21, he’s 2-0-1 with a 1.95 GAA and .937 save percentage. The Panthers played on Thursday and started Sergei Bobrovsky, which means that Driedger will likely start tonight, providing you with a pretty good value option.

Bargain Bin: John Gibson (ANA) - $6,900 FanDuel/$7,800 DraftKings/$33 Yahoo.
