NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are five games scheduled for Friday night.

Forwards:

Max Pacioretty (Vegas) – W - $7,900 FanDuel, $8,500 DraftKings, $33 Yahoo

Pacioretty is on a four-game point streak going into Friday’s contest. He’s up to 14 goals and 28 points in 27 games. If he can maintain this pace, then this will end up being the best season of his career to date from a points-per-game perspective.

Anze Kopitar (Los Angeles) – C - $7,700 FanDuel, $6,700 DraftKings, $23 Yahoo

Kopitar has been a regular contributor lately, recording at least a point in eight of his last nine games. That gives him eight goals and 34 points in 28 contests this season. That’s an incredible output given his price point, especially in DraftKings and Yahoo.

Evander Kane (San Jose) – W - $7,100 FanDuel, $7,000 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

Kane has found the back of the net in four of his last five games and is coming off a three-point showing on Wednesday. He’s excelled this season with 12 goals and 26 points in 27 contests. In terms of points-per-game, this is his best pace of his career by a decent margin.

Defensemen:

John Carlson (Washington) - $6,600 FanDuel, $6,600 DraftKings, $23 Yahoo

Carlson has contributed at least a point in five of his last six contests. He’s been one of the most reliable offensive defensemen for years now and he’s having another superb season with six goals and 25 points in 29 contests.

Bargain Bin: Shea Theodore (VGK) - $6,200 FanDuel/$6,400 DraftKings/$25 Yahoo, Morgan Rielly (TOR) - $5,500 FanDuel/$5,500 DraftKings/$24 Yahoo, Quinn Hughes (VAN) - $5,000 FanDuel/$4,800 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Erik Karlsson (SJS) - $4,400 FanDuel/$4,600 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Justin Schultz (WAS) - $4,100 FanDuel/$3,500 DraftKings/$15 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Thatcher Demko (Vancouver) - $7,600 FanDuel, $6,900 DraftKings, $34 Yahoo

Demko is on a three-game winning streak and has allowed just five goals over that span. The Canucks’ inability to re-sign Jacob Markstrom over the offseason has been made easier to live with for Vancouver thanks to Demko’s strong play. He has an 11-10-1 record, 2.69 GAA, and .920 save percentage in 22 starts.

Bargain Bin: Jordan Binnington (STL) - $7,500 FanDuel/$7,800 DraftKings/$27 Yahoo
