NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are two games scheduled for Friday.

Forwards:

Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado) – C - $8,900 FanDuel, $9,200 DraftKings, $35 Yahoo

Not only has MacKinnon recorded at least a point in five of Colorado’s six playoff games this season, but he’s contributed multiple points in four of those contests. He’s already scored an incredible eight goals and 13 points in six playoff games this year. To put that into context, he’s leading the playoff goal scoring race over Brayden Point, Alex Killorn, and Sebastian Aho who each have two fewer goals despite each of them playing in three more games.

Gabriel Landeskog (Colorado) – W - $7,600 FanDuel, $6,400 DraftKings, $30 Yahoo

Landeskog was held off the scoresheet on Wednesday, but he recorded at least a point in his previous seven contests. In the playoffs he’s been a dominate force with four goals and 11 points in six contests. It wouldn’t be at all surprising if he found his way back on the scoresheet tonight.

Tyler Toffoli (Montreal) – W - $6,500 FanDuel, $6,000 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

The best options tonight are all members of the Avalanche, but they’re all understandably also expensive. If you want a cheaper option who might end up having a big night, Toffoli is someone to consider. He’s on a three-game point streak and has been a solid part of the Canadiens’ run with two goals and six points in eight playoff contests.

Bargain Bin: Nick Suzuki (MON) - $5,900 FanDuel/$5,600 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Brandon Saad (COL) - $4,600 FanDuel/$3,200 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Jesperi Kotkaniemi (MON) - $4,500 FanDuel/$3,400 DraftKings/$11 Yahoo, Tyson Jost (COL) - $3,900 FanDuel/$3,000 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo

Defensemen:

Shea Theodore (Vegas) - $5,700 FanDuel, $5,500 DraftKings, $23 Yahoo

Theodore was held off the scoresheet for the first six contests of Vegas’ playoff run, but he’s been heating up. He’s had two multi-point games over his last three contests, including Wednesday when he registered a pair of assists in Vegas’ 3-2 overtime loss to Colorado.

Bargain Bin: Jeff Petry (MON) - $5,300 FanDuel/$5,300 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Neal Pionk (WPG) - $4,800 FanDuel/$4,700 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Devon Toews (COL) - $4,600 FanDuel/$4,600 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Samuel Girard (COL) - $4,500 FanDuel/$3,700 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Ryan Graves (COL) - $4,200 FanDuel/$4,300 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Josh Morrissey (WPG) - $4,200 FanDuel/$4,900 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Philipp Grubauer (Colorado) - $8,400 FanDuel, $8,200 DraftKings, $30 Yahoo

The Avalanche have won six straight games to start their playoff run and while their forward core is certainly part of the reason for that, a lot of the credit has to go to Grubauer. He’s posted a 1.66 GAA and .943 save percentage in six playoff starts this year. He played a particularly vital role in Wednesday’s overtime win, stopping 39 of 41 shots.

Bargain Bin: Carey Price (MON) - $8,000 FanDuel/$7,900 DraftKings/$27 Yahoo
