NFLPA's Influencer Hot List led by Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes

Who's hot and who's not?

The NFL Players Association isn't going to deal with the latter, but it has released its second Influencer Hot List in partnership with Opendorse, to show who garners all the fire emoji.

The hot list takes into account total engagements on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The top three are unsurprisingly quarterbacks. What may be more intriguing is the top 10 in growth rate, which reflects players who have rapidly growing social media fanbases. Then there is the top 10 most consistently active, an indicator for companies looking to market with these players.

Without further ado.

NFLPA Influencer Hot List top 10

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady beat out the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes once again. Brady is the No. 1 in total engagements with approximately 4.8 million Facebook followers, 9.7 million on Instagram and 2.0 million on Twitter.

He's followed by Mahomes, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and Arizona Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt.

The rest: Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, Seahawks' wide receiver DK Metcalf and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Who is on the rise in NFL?

The Growth rate list takes into account how quickly a player is growing in followers by taking the percentage of new followers with a minimum 100,000 total.

Trey Lance, taken No. 3 overall in the 2021 draft by the San Francisco 49ers, ranks first and No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson of the New York Jets ranks second. Washington Football quarterback Taylor Heinicke ranks third following his breakout playoff performance against Brady and the Bucs.

Michah Parsons (Cowboys), DeVonta Smith (Eagles), Mac Jones (Patriots), Scotty Miller (Bucs), Patrick Surtain II (Broncos), Jaycee Horn (Panthers) and Elijah Moore (Jets) complete the list.

Most active NFL players

The Atlanta Falcons running back Mike Davis is the Most Consistently Active player, ousting Cameron Jordan and Will Compton from last year's list.

The players listed are in the top 50 percent in audience and met the engagement threshold.

The Ravens' Marlon Humphrey and Patrick Queen came in second and third.

Jordan seemed more than willing to get rid of the tag, telling the NFLPA "give him the crown."
