Any football fans who were hoping to see the Baltimore Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns and to find out what variant of the ACTN3 gene they have went home half-disappointed this past Sunday. The Ravens won 24-10 but “rescheduled” a promotional event known as ‘DNA Day’ in which a stadium full of fans would have received free genetic-testing kits on their way to their seats. After inquiries from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid as well as the Maryland Department of Health, the event—originally set for this past Sunday—has been postponed, though no new date has been announced.
We’re only a few weeks into the 2017 football season, but projections for the 2018 NFL draft are already flying around, and the quarterback class is already taking control of the early slots. The latest 2018 NFL mock draft comes from Bleacher Report, with a pair of Pac-12 passers coming off the board with the first two picks. UCLA’s Josh Rosen grabs the top spot, landing with the New York Jets, while USC’s Sam Darnold stays in California with the San Francisco 49ers. Darnold and Rosen have both had roller-coaster performances through the first three weeks of the season, but their peaks have overshadowed their valleys to this point. They’re far from finished products, but both players have the
