Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins had a record-setting season. The 22-year-old finished with 67 receptions, which tied Cris Collinsworth for the most catches by a rookie in team history. Higgins would've broken the record, but he suffered a hamstring injury in the Bengals' season finale against Baltimore.
The Washington Football Team reportedly is finalizing a deal to hire Marty Hurney as its general manager, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. The Maryland native had been the Carolina Panthers general manager before he was fired in December after Carolina's 4-10 start. Former Nebraska defensive back Eric Stokes, a 47-year-old Lincoln East graduate, was on a short list of candidates who interviewed for the job.
He led all NFL rookies with 7.5 sacks and posted 44 total tackles, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries. Former Ohio State defensive end Chase Young was named the 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Professional Football Writers of America. Young, who was taken 2nd overall by the Washington Football Team, started in 15 games.
