    Lions think they have chance to sell out Ford Field for season

    In Year 1 of the rebuild, the Detroit Lions drew the fewest fans in the league. In Year 3, they think they could sell out Ford Field for the season. “I think we're at 96% and change renewal rate (on season tickets), which is maybe the highest ever, and then thousands and thousands of new season-ticket purchases too,” president Rod Wood told reporters on Tuesday during the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix. Since moving to Ford Field in 2002, the Lions have never drawn better than 98.7% capacity.

    Detroit Lions believe relationship with Calvin Johnson is on the right track

    The Detroit Lions believe their relationship with Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson is on the right track after a few turbulent, separated years. Johnson told the New York Post that his relationship with the team he spent his entire nine-year career with was “trending up” and that they had been trying to make something happen. Team president Rod Wood said from Phoenix that he believes the franchise has started bridging the divide before deferring to Lions chief operating officer Mike Disner for mending the relationship with Johnson.
