Johnson signed his franchise tender with the Rams on March 6, guaranteeing himself a 2017 salary of $16.742 million, which will make him the NFL's highest-paid cornerback. ESPN put out their nominations for the 2017 ESPY Awards with the opportunity for fans to cast their votes. One award of particular interest to Pittsburgh Steelers fans is Comeback Player of the Year. But lo and behold the nominees come out and new Steelers running back James Conner is nowhere to be seen. And Twitter reacted to his omission. The four athletes who were nominated are Matt Bush of the Texas Rangers, Jordy Nelson of the Green Bay Packers, Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks and professional tennis player Roger Federer. In case you don’t know, Conner came back from cancer to have a huge final season at Pitt before being drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2017 NFL
