We’re three weeks into the college football season, and thanks to Hurricane Irma, it took two weeks for every NFL team to get their season opener in the books. Now that the football universe has gotten a healthy dose of both pro and college action, it’s time to take another stab at mocking the first round of the 2018 NFL draft? Why, you ask? Why do we do anything else? Because it’s fun, people. So, using the latest Super Bowl odds from Vegas Insider to set the draft order, let’s do this. All of this year’s top quarterback prospects have already proven they’re not superhuman, with costly mistakes and poor decisions leading to disastrous results. That said, I still think Rosen is doing the most
A slew of injuries to key players could leave the Green Bay Packers scrambling this week. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday the team's medical staff was still "trying to get their hands around" the avalanche of injuries that occurred during the team's 34-23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night, although none of the injuries appear to be season-ending. Already forced to play without starting offensive tackles David Bakhtiari (hamstring) and Bryan Bulaga (ankle), the Packers lost standout defensive tackle Mike Daniels to a hamstring injury on the Falcons' first offensive possession. Then wide receiver Jordy Nelson, Aaron Rodgers' top offensive weapon, sustained a quadriceps injury on the Packers' first possession.
Just about everyone saw this coming: Mike Glennon is the 2017 version of Brock Osweiler. The Bears signed Glennon to a three-year, $45 million in the offseason. It only took two games for Chicago fans to totally turn on him. Not that he doesn’t deserve the criticism. He played horribly in the first half against the Buccaneers, his former team, after an underwhelming Week 1 performance. These throws are unacceptable for a veteran quarterback like Glennon… The Bears have second-overall pick Mitchell Trubisky on the bench. The calls for Glennon to be benched for the rookie are get louder with every bad throw… It’s only a matter of time before the Bears give Trubisky the keys to the franchise.
