Report: Bengals sign former Vikings tight end to 1-year deal
The Cincinnati Bengals reportedly have filled a gap in their tight end room, signing former Minnesota Vikings TE Irv Smith Jr. to a one-year deal. NFL Network's Peter Schrager was the first to report the deal. A second-round draft pick out of Alabama, Smith totaled 91 catches for 858 yards and nine touchdowns in his 37 games with Minnesota. Smith became an expendable piece of the Vikings' offense after a trade with Detroit to land T.J. Hockenson.
