On Wednesday, Bryant (#26 above, seen in a Dec. 14, 2019 game) showed up at the Atlanta Falcons’ facility based on a minicamp tryout offer he thought he’d received from Falcons’ defensive coordinator Dean Pees, but when he got there, he found out that it had been someone impersonating Pees who had texted him, and that the Falcons didn’t have a tryout spot for him.
We still have so many questions about what the new team will look like under Arthur Smith and Dan Pees. The Falcons have the highest draft pick since 2008 in Kyle Pitts, hopefully a major game changer for an offense that has been frustratingly predictable. Pees has his work cut out for him, too.
Kyle Pitts did his best to sound like any other rookie just trying to fit in, even though he knows he's expected to play a high-profile role from his first game with the Atlanta Falcons. Modesty goes over well for a rookie, even one of the top selections in the NFL draft. Following Friday's rookie camp workout at the Falcons' facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia, Pitts said all the right things.
