The Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday named Terry Fontenot the team's first Black general manager, finding new leadership from within their division. The 40-year-old Fontenot spent 18 seasons with NFC South rival New Orleans. Fontenot helped build a consistent winner as the Saints' vice president and assistant general manager in charge of pro personnel.
After a 4-12 season, the Falcons landed the No. 4 overall pick, putting the team in position to potentially select a new franchise quarterback.
Ulbrich has spent the last six seasons as the linebackers coach for the Atlanta Falcons. Ahead of the 2020 season, Ulbrich was promoted to assistant head coach/linebackers coach. When Dan Quinn was fired after an 0-5 start and Raheem Morris took over as interim head coach, Ulbrich was named defensive coordinator.
