Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has eighth eye surgery

Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer met with the media on Saturday and revealed he underwent another eye operation last week. That's the eighth procedure for Zimmer since last Halloween. Zimmer underwent emergency surgery for a detached retina in his right eye last Nov. 30 and missed the Vikings' game against the Dallas Cowboys early in December. "It's so complicated, but they took the silicone ... out," Zimmer told reporters. "They put the gas bubble in. ... Hopefully we're done. I thought that before. We'll see." With all due respect to Sean Wagner-McGough,

Jaye Howard wanted to sign with Bears in 2016

The Chiefs finished the 2015 season with one of the most dominant defensive lines in the league, led by Jaye Howard who had a monster season. Many expected Howard to leave in free agency after 2015 due to his performance. Instead, he signed a two-year, $12 million deal with Kansas City. As it turns out, Howard almost signed with the Chicago Bears in 2016 before ultimately deciding to stay with the Chiefs. “I was coming off a hell of a year,” Howard said, via the Chicago Sun Times. “Everybody thought the price would be outrageous. “It’s funny how that works. I wanted to be [in Chicago] last year. A year later, I’m here. The thing is, I’m just trying to stay here.” Howard signed a one-year deal
